Tanya Stockton has been a nurse for over 25 years. She’s worked in Emergency Medicine as well as Gynecology and Urology. She started with Texas Healthcare 18 years ago, focusing primarily on Family Medicine. She has a passion for primary care and building lasting, meaningful relationships with patients. She believes that excellent healthcare begins with trust, compassion, and truly understanding each individual’s story. She focuses on prevention, education, and helping patients feel confident in managing their health. Above all, she loves being part of her patients’ lives and supporting them through every stage of their care. She believes that strong relationships lead to better health.

Originally from Tennessee, Tanya moved to Texas 20 years ago. She’s been married for nearly 25 years to Todd, who works in supply chain management and is also an Air Force Veteran. They have a daughter, Katelyn (28), and a son, Tyler (22), who is a senior at the University of Houston majoring in Chemical Engineering. They have a rescue dog named Rooby, whom Tanya is OBSESSED with and considers her third and favorite child!

When not at the office, Tanya enjoys outdoor activities, as her family loves to camp, hike, and are avid fly fishers—Todd even makes his own flies! They have a passion for travel, with the mountains of Colorado and the beaches of Florida being their favorite destinations. They also LOVE watching sports, with Todd a huge Michigan fan and Tanya rooting for the Tennessee Vols through thick and thin. They also support the University of Houston, where Tyler plays ice hockey.

Tanya’s newest hobby is Thoroughbred Horse Racing, which she shares with her daughter. She now owns a virtual barn of racehorses through fractional ownership.
